While you are working in Query window, if you want to delete the current row, you have to highlight entire row and press delete key. Another alternate is to use SHIFT+DEL key. The cursor can be at any position and the entire row will be deleted
I am quite surprised to see a lot of people learn this one. It is a standard feature of the Visual Studio IDE (on which SSMS is based upon). In fact, I can confirm that this one is true starting at least Visual Studio 2005 IDE, meaning that this should be available in the SSMS for SQL Server 2005 also.
Yes but not many people aware of it as most of them might not be working in Visual Studio
I knew this but never used. I usually do HOME followed by SHIFT + DOWN ARROW to select the entire line and then click on DELETE. I know that is a long route (I can do that quite quickly), but gives me a clear idea of what is being deleted.
Though, i know this before, i am not using it.
I will use "END" key, which will take me to end of the line. Then i will use SHIFT + HOME to select entire line and then click on DELETE
One reason behind is Shift + Delete works only in Visual Studio and SSMS. In Notepad, it won't work..
